|Kelly McKenna is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and serves as the program manager for True North Solutions. She has been working as a therapist in an outpatient mental health and substance use setting since 2005. She has advanced education and certificates in trauma treatment, addiction treatment, and geriatric\aging issues. Kelly approaches each person as an individual with specific needs and uses a cognitive – behavioral approach to help people understand why they do what they do and how to change it.She uses other techniques as well such as EMDR, biofeedback apps, and yoga movement to help people achieve their goals for healing and recovery.|
|Dennis J. Crowell is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has been in clinical practice for over 30 years. After having taught at the ISU School of Social Work for 22 years, he continues to be involved in the education arena by adjunct teaching for both ISU and the U of I School of Social Work at Urbana-Champaign. An emphasis on reality-based positively focused therapy, he has worked with individuals, couples, and groups dealing with a variety of issues. Dennis also provides services in sports-related therapy and professional improvement.Continuing to do professional workshops in business, educational, and community settings fulfills his desire to provide to others a little of what the profession has given him. Dennis was awarded the NASW West Central District Social Worker of the Year for 2013.|
|Claire Maquet graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder with a Bachelor of Science in Education. After working in the education field and public relations, she returned to Illinois State University for a Master of Science in Counseling. Claire, who has taught at the high school level and Psychology at the junior college level, is presently employed at True North as a counselor seeing individuals, couples and families for a variety of issues. She has twenty years of experience in the field, and her counseling style is solution-focused with an emphasis on cognitive behavioral techniques. Claire is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). She also serves as a feedback specialist for the Center for Creative Leadership at Bradley University providing consultation and training to companies throughout the state. In addition, she enjoys doing workshops on such issues as Stress Management, Managing Change in the Workplace, and Successful Communication.|
|Melissa Dessert is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). She obtained her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Northern Illinois University. Melissa has a variety of experience in individual, family, and group psychotherapy. She provides a variety of services for adults, couples, and families and specializes in substance use disorders, relationships, and trauma.|
|Chrissy Smith is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Bradley University in 2004 and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana with a focus on community mental health in 2006. Chrissy has a broad base of experience in individual, family, and group psychotherapy. She provides a variety of services for adults and children and specializes in anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, and children 8 and older.|
|Marsha Boythe graduated from the University of Wisconsin at LaCrosse with a Bachelor's of Science degree in secondary education. After teaching in the public school system for several years, she returned to Illinois State University at Normal, Illinois to complete a Master's of Science in Counseling Psychology. She is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with experience in the physical rehabilitation field, inpatient psychiatric treatment and outpatient mental health services. At True North, she sees adults for individual and marital counseling with a focus on cognitive behavioral and solution focused therapies.|
|Robert Beach is an experienced counselor in the mental health, substance abuse, and educational settings. He is an LCPC (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor) and NCC (National Board Certified Counselor). In Illinois, Robert holds both teaching (highly qualified teacher) and school counseling certifications. He works with children, adolescents, and adults in the areas of anxiety, depression, personality disorders, schizophrenia, adjustment disorder, bipolar disorder, and in changing other unhelpful behaviors. Robert respectfully works with clients from a solution-focused perspective, utilizing evidence based practices such as Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.|
|Colleen Worley is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who received her Bachelors of Art in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Springfield and her Masters of Art in School Counseling from Bradley University. Colleen has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults on a multitude of issues including depression, anxiety, severe and persistent mental illness, and substance abuse. Colleen prefers to work closely with her clients in a collaborative effort to establish a healthy life balance as well as to emphasize personal assets to use in skill building and recovery. Colleen has been trained through the American Red Cross as a Disaster Relief Counselor and is a National Board Certified Counselor.|
|Wisnu Meier, MA. NCC, LCPC is a native of Java, Indonesia. She studied Psychology for her undergraduate program at University of Gadjah Mada. She received her Masters of Art in Community/Agency Counseling from Bradley University. She has experience in outpatient mental health, private practice, residential treatment program, school/college settings. She provides a wide variety of services for individuals (6 and older), couples, and families who are struggling with: grief/loss, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, relationship, parenting, and school & work related issues. Wisnu utilizes solution focused and cognitive behavioral therapies. Due to her love for dancing and writing, Wisnu often incorporates mind-body connection approaches such as mindfulness in motion, meditation, and expressive writing to help her clients connect with themselves and access buried emotions so they can begin to work through them.|
|Jacob Pritchard is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC.) He obtained his Bachelors degree in Psychology and his Masters degree in Clinical and Community Mental Health Psychology from Western Illinois University. Jake has a wide range of experience in individual, family, marriage, and group psychotherapy. He has experience working with several different issues including but not limited to: depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, and anger management. He frequently uses a Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) approach. When not in session Jake enjoys reading, video games, and spending time with his wife and family.|
|Krystyn Gunther is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Social Work. Krystyn has experience in individual and group therapy and specializes in anxiety, depression, serious mental illnesses, trauma, substance use, and chronic pain. She uses a collaborative goal oriented style of communication.|
|Danny Osterloo is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) who graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Illinois in Psychology and a Master’s Degree from Eastern Illinois University in Clinical Counseling. Danny has experience working with both the adult and child population. His areas of focus include: childhood trauma, depression, anxiety, anger issues, adjustment disorders, and grief. He has experience in outpatient mental health services in both the office and school settings. He also has some experience in crisis management. Danny treats each person with a client centered approach and believes in people; that with a little bit of guidance, they will be empowered to make some positive changes in their life.|
|Ranu Iyer completed her Master’s in Counseling from Southern IL University at Carbondale and is
a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Nationally Certified Counselor.
Rajashree has a variety of experience in dealing with clients who are diagnosed with depression, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, ADHD, schizophrenia and Bipolar disorders. Rajashree works from a collaborative and solution focused approach and believes in creating a therapeutic environment that is warm, friendly and free of judgement so that each client feels free to work towards their personal goals.
When not in session, Rajashree loves to watch movies, listen to music and spend time with her husband and three girls.
|Emily Hagman is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Play Therapist. She received her Bachelors of Science in Social Work from Kansas State University and Masters in Social Work with a Clinical Emphasis from the University of Kansas. Emily has clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. Her areas of focus include: trauma, depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, loss, and self-esteem. She feels it is a privilege to join a client on their path to healing and works closely with the client to help foster hope and change. She enjoys providing Play Therapy interventions with both children and adults to help them better express and work through their current situation.|
|Julie Eaton is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) who graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Illinois State University and with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Eastern Illinois University. Julie has experience working with children (age 8 and older), adolescents, and adults on a variety of issues including: substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, trauma, and adjustment disorders. She has experience in residential, outpatient, and crisis mental health settings as well as residential, inpatient, and outpatient substance use disorder settings. Julie prefers a collaborative, strengths-based approach that empowers each client to make positive changes one day at a time.|
|George Shotick, M.D. is a staff physician with Human Service Center / Fayette Companies. He is a native of Peoria and has been in practice in Central Illinois since 1981. He is a graduate of Bradley University, and received his medical degree from Southern Illinois University College of Medicine. His residency training was at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Dr. Shotick is board certified in Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine. He also worked for five years as a full time Correctional (jail) physician. With Human Service Center, Dr. Shotick's duties include seeing clients at several addiction treatment and mental health programs, including True North Solutions.|
|Janet Hill, RN,, is a graduate of the St. Francis College of Nursing. She has been practicing nursing in the area for over 20 years. She has experience working at Methodist, OSF, and Proctor hospitals, including the Illinois Institute for Addiction Recovery at Proctor. Janet has been with the Human Service Center since 2009 and has extensive experience working with Medication Assistance Treatment and detoxification programs. She utilizes her decades of experience to educate and care for each client with compassion, knowledge, and understanding. Janet is a native of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, where they call themselves, Yoopers! She has a background in religious studies and philosophy and enjoys spending time with her family. Janet is a local artist and has 2 children and loves dogs.|
|Tammy Gaworski, RN,, is a graduate of Methodist School of Nursing. She has been a RN for over 20 years with experience in addiction, mental health and community nursing in the Peoria and Normal area. Tammy enjoys spending time with her husband, traveling and making dog treats for her fur babies.|
|Jeri Davis is our Intake Specialist. Jeri came to True North after a career in Human resources and recruitment. She has three adult children, four grandchildren, and a great grand-daughter. Jeri approaches all clients with care and compassion and can answer questions regarding our services and schedule your appointment. Jeri was awarded the Fayette Companies Fabulous Employee Award in 2013.|
|Antwine C. Freeman serves True North Solutions in the capacity of evening Front Desk Clerk. His primary employment as a local Cosmetologist for the last 35 years has afforded him the opportunity to serve many individuals on various levels and many walks of life. This segue further assists in his abilities to offer our clients here at True North Solutions superb and quality service. He gladly joined our team and looks forward to assisting each and every one of our clients with their needs.|
|Rosemary Abraham works as a Program Assistant. She loves to interact with all of our patients and will try to answer all of your questions. Rosemary comes from a very large family and loves being around others. When the time came for Rosemary to return to work after raising her four children, she couldn't think of a better place to work than True North Solutions! She feels like it is a very friendly, loving group that truly wants to help others and that everyone here has the same goal which is to provide care with the greatest love and compassion.
